The fourth day of the Counting of the Omer begins Friday night.
It is the day of Netzach within Chesed, endurance within love. On this day, I am thinking about the ways that I can make love last. I think about how love is about commitment, showing up, and making it work even through tough times. I consider how I can be a better friend by thinking about long-term commitment rather than short-term expediency.
On this fourth day of the Counting of the Omer, I am determined to do the hard work of relationship building by caring for people during tough times, being there when I am needed, and not giving up on people when I perceive them to be "difficult." I also think about not giving up on myself, but treating myself with compassion and care even when I feel disappointed in myself.
May this be a day for you that strengthens your determination to make love last.
