It is the day of Yesod within Chesed, connection within love. On this day, I am thinking about building a solid foundation of connection in the way I relate to others. I think about how taking the time to really get to know people is an investment that pays off in deeper, more meaningful and more fulfilling relationships. I remember how good it feels when another person asks me to share a conversation over a meal or to go on a walk together just to get to know me better. I want to build those kinds of experiences into the way I relate to others.
On this sixth day of the Counting of the Omer, I make a commitment to build strong foundations for the important relationships in my life by making time for people, listening to them, and letting them know that I care about them. I also think about remembering to stay connected with myself, to take the time I need to think about my experiences, and to remind myself of my values and the person I wish to be.
May this be a day for you in which you connect with others to discover yourself.
